The lake itself is fabulous, to avoid crowds, limit time at the Siskiyou camp, unfortunately the only place to rent kayaks or paddle boards. The beach gets super crowded with families, grab your kayak and head out in the AM and then spend time on one of the state beaches instead of on their beach. Written 28 July 2020.
