Mirror lake is crowns items so thats why they are so rare. Also its an MMO with items people want. So its pretty smart to make people waste more of their sub on farming for gear so that they can pull in more subs from one player. TLDR; Low Drop Rates is a business decision.

I'd recommend couch potatoes because they are the easier alternative to come by and give +40 to +50 snacks. Evil magma peas are harder to get but grow faster than couch potatoes.
