Why is my ezpass beeping

They clearly said it beeps when changing settings so they still have one of the older ones that does still beep they were just concerned that it didn't beep when going thru the toll station which is also dumb IMO. My question is why they removed the beeper from the unit itself since that is what will beep when you change the settings.
