The takeaway: a rogue Corsair and iCUE process is not addressed in the FAQ. There was something left behind by one of the previous updates that was causing the conficts. Since the clean install, I have had no more "Corsair.Service.Display.Adapter" errors. Folks, I kept getting freezes when I tried to update my iCUE software.

I used the Apps area in Windows and then right clicked and choose uninstall. I might resubscribe eventually if they ever add my GPU (Gigabyte Aorus 2080 Super) so their list of supported devices but until then the program is simply not as useful for me as it is for others.So, clean uninstall.
