Subaru key stuck in ignition recall

T. thetrav Discussion starter · Apr 21, 2010. I am having intermittent problems with getting my key out of the ignition on my 2000 Outback (automatic). At first it was once a month or so, but now it is almost every other time I drive it. When I shut off the car and go to remove the key, I cannot put the key into the '0' position.

Key stuck in the ignition switch compartment. Also, had a problem with the shift gear position indicator. Dealer urged consumer to put a towel at the wheel to hide the keys holder.
