When was Shelburne Farms created? Shelburne Farms was created and founded in 1886 by William Seward Webb and Lila Vanderbilt Webb. Today, it is a working farm with walking trails, a welcome center, and Brown Swiss cows; Shelburne Farms is a national historic landmark, recognized for its stunning architecture and importance in American history.

Shelburne Farms is not hosting any eclipse events, and parking for viewing is very limited (farm fields used for parking are typically wet and muddy at this time of year). On the day of the eclipse, based on conditions, we will accommodate a limited number of cars, then close the property to parking. Shelburne Farms is many things. We're a farm, education center, and historic property; a beautiful inn, and a place where entire families can milk a cow (but not at the same time!). And that's just the beginning.
