Here, we focus on terrigenous sandstones. Sandstones with different compositions, such as ophiolite-derived sandstones, volcaniclastic sandstones and mixed carbonates-siliciclastics ideally require a different selection of diagrams/methods (e.g., Caracciolo et al., 2011; Perri et al., 2012).
