Go buy a safety wire kit and some old school oury push-ons. I haven’t run lockons for years. The wire and pliers with oury grips won’t cost much more than a pair of lock ons. I have Oury grips on my HT and the Rogues on my FS rig. The Oury's are definitely softer and more compliant. They are also thicker and heavier than the Rogues. Both are very tacky, but I'd say that the Rogues provide a slightly better grip. This is definitely going to come down to personal preference.I mistakenly thought bigger, cushier grips were the answer (Oury are already pretty cushy) and tried the big ESI Chunky's. Wrong answer - it wasn't a shock absorption problem. Rather, for me the bigger diameter and cushier feel was causing me to grip harder.
