Musescore triplet
Hi, Just trying to create a simple drum part with 8th-note triplets on a closed hi-hat, kick on 1 and 3, and snare on 2 and 4 in 4/4. I select 8th note in the Note Input thing at the top. I select Notes>Tuplets>Triplet. Doing just this changes the Note Input to 16th-note even though I selected 8th-note. Which of course adds 16th-note triplets.

There's not room for two more beats in the audio. Plus the grace triplet plays too slow. I tried changing the tempo for just the triplet, but playback uses the rhythm of the anchor note. I put three half notes in a 4/4 measure - obviously it filled 1.5 measures. I highlighted all three notes and hit CMD-3 and got a triplet as an eight note and two eight rests not three half note triplets. Did I do it incorreclty? Thanks you again.
