Lethal pursuer absolutely has value in the early game. It’s not great on every killer but it’s still strong within its niche of early game perks. You said it yourself that it cut down on the initial chase time by a large amount. It’s comparable to corrupt but without the potential drawback of survivors hiding for the entire duration.

If you dont suspect Lethal, you might consider taking a path that you have some stealth on to quickly find your way to where the killer started, and work on Gens behind thier back.
