Goldleaf can't install xci at all. For tinfoil you'll have to be more specific about the issue. A legit NSP is a copy of the file from the eshop. What normally leaks is a dump from the physical cartridge that someone got early which is an XCI. This XCI can be converted to NSP format but is not the real thing yet. With splitnsp you need to right click on the folder containing your 00, 01, 02 ect. files and go to properties. Click advanced and set the folder as ready to archive.
