Factorio smelting setup

Adding another beacon to the iron production gives a 7% overproduction of iron. The current setup is designed to be as long as the iron/copper smelters so it's easy to tile and share beacons. It uses almost exactly a red belt of iron ore (26.3/s), and produces just over a lane of yellow belt of steel (7.5/s) blueprint.

Factorio smelting setup. Yes, my standard smelting column has a belt lined with coal on one side and ore on the other. This works with both yellow and red belts. If your belt is condensed on both the coal and ore side, it can feed 24 stone smelters from a yellow belt.

The goal of the starter base is to build entities fast enough to build the production base. Because of this, emphasis is placed on building of entities over the completion of science. The starter base ends with the production of a 245mw solid fuel backup power plant. (you can thank Zisteau for this build). They haven't suggested that there's only one correct way to play, they've only suggested an efficient way to play. Set up the ore patch, return when it's depleted. If you're happy returning to an ore patch half way through to reconfigure pretty much everything in this setup, then more power to you, but many would consider it a waste of time or a pain in the arse to have to keep doing when ...Smelting setup Circuit-free solutions of basic factory-design to achieve optimal item-throughput. Involving: Belts (balancers, crossings), Inserters, Chests, Furnaces, Assembling Devices ...For Steel Smelting the Iron Plate inserters are wired individually to the Requester Chests located behind them and are set to work on Circuit Network Condition "Iron Plates > 4", which ensures they only insert Iron Plates into the Furnace as long as the Inserter is able to grab 5 Plates in a turn from the Requester Chest, basically abusing the …Smelting setup Circuit-free solutions of basic factory-design to achieve optimal item-throughput. Involving: Belts (balancers, crossings), Inserters, Chests, Furnaces, Assembling Devices ...1 / 1 ratio is ok, but remember that after some time you will probably start bringing ore to smelt in trains and it will make maintaining this ratio rather hard (if not impossible). Once trains are running check whether your smelters are capable of processing all the ore before the next train arrives - if not, add more (or use speed modules). 4.

Basically this set up but on each 'resource' planet. Miners flow raw ore into an LS, that gets drone-shipped to an on-planet smelting facility, then the smelted product gets shipped off-world. You have to build it again on each rss planet but it doubles most of the throughput for 2:1 ingots and at scale you'd have to start expanding the hub ...If you tried to do 6 belts at 33/sec, from all wagons in a 10 wagon train, you could compress 44 bluebelts, 1980 items/second. 9 smelters with 12 beacons each compresses an out belt, and consumes 37.5 ore/second. So you could almost completely supply 53 tiles of 9 smelters, resulting in 53 belts of plates coming out.The most UPS efficient mining & smelting blueprint. Endgame Tilable Beaconed Smelting + Green Circuits. Here is my setup I started using lately for Green Circuits. I have come up with an idea to combine smelting and production cause full belt of Green Circuits requires less smelters than a full row to saturate. As a result I have the line of comparable size to a common 2 belt smelting but ...It's 1:1. Steel takes 5 iron to make, but also takes 5 times as long to make. It's actually a bit under 1:1 when you start using productivity modules in your smelting, but only because you need fewer smelters to make a full blue belt of iron plates (a blue belt of ore turns into more than a blue belt of iron).Compact, perfect ratio Module setup (blueprint in comments) I made this design yesterday and I liked it a lot, so I figured I'd post it here. This is designed for one train per network and all outpost stops the same name. The train is limited by filter slots and it is a dumb system, but it is a simple enough one to set up for any skill level of player. Customise your own train, add a carriage, just make sure to set a requester chest at your walls ammo point.I'm using a mod, Warehousing, that produces enormous storage containers that are 6x6 (default are 1x1 chests) and have 1800 [1] stacks of items. 6 stack inserters move from belts to a warehouse and another 6 to the train, or vice versa for unloading. The main advantage is that you don't have situations where one chest is more full than another and you have some idle inserters and some with too ...Eventually you'll need a larger greenhouse setup, but 5 or 10 greenhouses will take you a long ways. Eventually you'll need silicon ore for tier 2 circuits and blue science anyhow. Smelting crushed ore directly nets you 2 plates per 3 crushed ore. However, then you have to set up and tear down smelting at every resource outpost, which is a pain because it's hard to automate and you have to coordinate moving around all the smelting machines (or build new ones at each new mine). Another issue is that if you aren't playing on peaceful, furnaces generate a ...Centralized smelting can be a hassle too, as smelting setups require frequent expansion and use bots or belts, both of which significantly reduce UPS. This solution works pretty well, as the trains will smelt their contents on their way back to base, avoiding all the cons of on-site smelting and centralized smelting. What this means is that you need many belts of iron and copper to supply a base, even a starter base. Once you move to the megabase stage it only gets worse, even with beacons and modules. Also note that 0.17 will change several science and rocket ratios. This will trickle down to smelting requirements. This will walk you though how to build a smelting setup in Factorio in under 60 seconds.#Shorts #Factorio #Guide #Tips

This is actually quite creative! +1 Though no offense, I honestly don't think you'd gain anything by using the design, for one (this is somewhat irrelevant btw) it's one tile smaller in width compared to what I'm planning to use for my new factory. But while I don't see any significant throughput issue with your design, I can't see how beacons would fit anywhere there, and they're quite huge ...

Based on new math, it takes 3 sec to make 1 iron, and it takes 5 iron and 12 sec to make 1 steel, so: 5 iron furnaces will produce 5x4=20 iron in 12 seconds (3 sec per 1 iron), and 4 steel furnaces will consume 20 iron per 12 seconds (4x5 at 12 sec per 5 iron). Which means a ratio of 5 iron per 4 steel furnaces - and that looks very similar to ...All of you probably know the setup without the splitter thing in the middle. Well, it works exactly like our old 48-stone furnace setups. But it takes one more vertical space (you could also use one side of the output inserters to tunnel with an underneathy, but that looks even weirder...) Why is this setup up good? It has max.Details. I made a blueprint book with early smeltery setup, that can be upgraded easy doing the gameplay in the early state. It is super important that COAL is on the OUTSIDE on the ...In a game with my friend Riithi, he built a pretty cool smelting setup for Iron and Copper, and called it the OmniSmelter. It responded dynamically to demand, and smelted only what was needed. He called it the OmniSmelter, but I kept renaming his stations to MultiSmelter, because it didn't do Steel or Brick. The rest of the story is obviousMy layouts are attached to show how I tried setting up the mining/smelting. All furnaces would have productivity module 3, and all beacons near the smelters would have speed module 3. All beacons near miners would have speed module 3. I currently have 36 miners in each lane (18 on each side of the belt) and 11 furnaces for each lane.Leave a space between the down and up for a pole, and make sure that the long inserters are reaching over the gap. Only one of the middle belts has to weave up and down since the wooden pole will reach the inserters on the inside of both sets. 1. seky16 • 5 yr. ago. As far as space efficiency goes, this setup is 18 beacons long and produces 1.2 belts of plates. Typical setup producing just one belt is 14 beacons long, and so produces a bit more per area (1/14 = 0.071 > 0.067 = 1.2/18).I figured it out. Take the tiliable part of the set-up. in your set-up it's the 8 by 8 tiles containing 8 furnaces. Then divide by the number of furnaces. That gets you 8 furnaces per tile.
