As someone who matched from a school without a program do as many as possible.It depends on your perspective. Which is less competitive is easy. Pathology is much easier to get into than dermatology. Like many of my co-applicants my goal is simply to match into Derm. I am completely not picky about the program or the region. Sure there are some programs and regions that I slightly prefer, but overall my goal is to match "somewhere."
